Students are the focus of our activity, and the British educational ethos is all about creating an environment where students can learn. The aim is to give them the support – facilities, equipment, access to information and staff expertise – that they need to become mature and autonomous learners. Here are some of the ways that BUE tries to do that:
The University Library
BUE plans to establish and maintain a professional, central Library and Information service that will provide access to both printed and electronic material. The library’s current space is enough to serve the number of students anticipated over the next year; however as of academic year 2008-09, the library will be re-housed in its own purpose-built accommodation. An aggressive acquisition strategy is being developed so that provision keeps pace with need.

IT Services
BUE students enjoy wireless network hotspots throughout the campus, and a ratio of public-access student computers of 1 computer to every 5 students. There is a fully-equipped language laboratory. As the University grows, the infrastructure develops with it so that students do not experience any lessening of service as numbers increase.
E-learning
Lecture notes and other reference material are available to students electronically via BUE’s e-learning website. The University plans to further enhance this aspect of support for learning in the near future.
Classroom and Laboratory Facilities
All teaching areas are air-conditioned, and equipped with up-to-date audio-visual and computing facilities. A number of classrooms contain Smart Boards and VCR/DVD capability.
